TRAVELS

We had the chance to visit few places in the states. I even had the chance to visit the Philippines for the second time. I couldn’t believed that we were able to do it this year. But I am so glad.
First visit is in NEVADA. The waiting is over. Mom together with Steve (brother in law) dropped us in the airport early in the morning. It was our first time that we flew together. We found out that there were no seat number in Southwest Airlines. We weren’t able to sit with each other. We arrived safe in Las Vegas airport. We had to wait for Christian (cousin). We were glad to see him. He took us to all Filipino restaurant that he knows and I was enjoying it. Dan just let me eat anything I wanted since we don’t have it in Omaha. We went to Hoover Dam, stratosphere and the strip. It was pretty but we don’t think we’re going to go back soon.
Second visit in in SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA. The main event that Dan had to go. I had the chance to visit Bernie, my friend in Omaha who moved back to San Diego because she couldn’t stand the weather condition. The day that the convention Dan was going with his friend, the Maroon, toured me around San Diego. The place was awesome. Beautiful scenery indeed.
Third visit is in CHICAGO, ILLINOIS. It wasn’t a fun trip. I had to renew my passport since I had to go home to attend my brother’s wedding. We used Ann’s car for an 8 hour drive. Dan wasn’t happy to drive to Chicago. He was in a hurry to go home. We only stayed for 4 hours and had to be back in Omaha. I wanted to drive but I couldn’t since I didn’t have enough sleep. We stopped by in outlet center in Iowa and had dinner. It was a tiring trip but yet glad that I witnessed the city of Chicago.
Fourth visit is in SOUTH DAKOTA. The most awaited trip since me and Dan had invited mom and dad for the said state. We were worried about whether they would like it or not. We rented a van for them. We wanted them to be comfortable. The vacation was so relaxing. We visited the places that we wanted to explore. We were so glad that mom and dad enjoyed their vacation with us. Can’t wait for the next trip with them.
Lastly, CEBU, PHILIPPINES. I have to attend my brother’s wedding. My second visit since I resides in the US for 4 years.

iLasik

I have been wearing my glasses since I started working in the store. I used not to but it got worst after 2 months I have been working. I really don't know why but all of a sudden, I got a terrible headaches and got dizzy. I had to call in one time since I couldn't bear the pain anymore. When I was a kid, I loved to borrow my mom's glasses and had to try them on with me. But when I started wearing it, I hated it. I am wearing contact lens instead of eyeglasses now.
Till I've heard about Lasik and have to research about everything of LASIK technology. Her vision is back to 20/20. She can go to places anymore without having her pair of glasses.
What is even wonderful about it is NASA and the US Military have been offering it especially to their personnel who are facing extreme, physically demanding conditions to help improve their eye sight. It has also been validated that Lasik exceeds all established standards of safety and effectiveness. It is really a good opportunity for them.

South Dakota Trip

We spent 2 nights in South Dakota. Mom and Dad went with us. We were kinda worried if they would be having fun. We are glad they did. We visited the tourist attractions there except the Rushmore Cave. They couldn't take the walking, plus, the stairs were too high for them. It was ok. We were supposed to stop by in Corn Palace but I was asleep when we passed by. Oh well.
I couldn't wait to have another trip with Mom and Dad again. Maybe 2 years from now since me and hubby aren't planning to go somewhere next year.

Digital Makeover

I don't have enough knowledge when it comes to the digital world. I love taking pictures and I only know just the basic on how to upload it to show it to my friends. I've been traveling on few states lately and I wanted to make it as a photo show. I am so thankful that I found Roxio online and I made a photo show. I loved it because I could add music and could make captions from my pictures. If it's not for Roxio, my pictures would be just simple and boring. I am so glad to some of my friends that they could do their blog more unique and turned out to be more lively. I am so thankful for Roxio Extreme Digital Makeover. Awesome Prices

I thought me and my aunt would be having a Chinese Buffet but she headed to the mall right away. I didn't argue since on Thursday, I am going with my other aunt to China Buffet. We just had Japanese food instead. It was yummy. Then, we went shopping. Oh boy, we were getting crazy for the prices. It was cheap. So, once again, I ended up buying 3 pairs of sandals, not to think, I bought 5 pairs of shoes last week. But what can I say, it's hard to resist the prices that they are having right now. Younker's store has one of the best store in the mall. We went to other 3 stores before going home. The last place we went was awesome. Since I've been wanting to shop something for my relatives back home, specifically for guys, I found a good deal for everybody. When we were in the register, the Filipina, who are working in the store, showed us I saved close to $400 but I only paid $33. My aunt saved $550 and she was paying for only $31. Awesome Prices. Not sure if it's still be there when I am going back next week, but I am hoping. If not, I'm going to other store, maybe I could find cheaper too.

Good Dinner

I am glad hubby found a pair of shoes that he liked. He is so picky when it comes to shoes. He has the one to buy it or else it will be given away or put it in the closet. He got it from Famous Footwear. I found something that I thought I liked but when I tried it on, it wasn't comfortable so I didn't waste my money. We went to Baker's to buy meat. We were supposed to go to Kohl's but I changed my mind. I wanted to go to Asian Store instead since it has been awhile I haven't been there. I took my time to walk around the store since hubby wanted to go to best buy. I bought what I wanted and I was happy. I had fried fish and grits for dinner. I made sauce for the fish. It includes soy sauce, vinegar with pepper, green tomato. So yummy, I had a good dinner.

What's up with our cats?

What's up with our cats? It started as Daphne had a plastic bag from her tail and hubby teased her with her toy "mouse". She jumped unto the couch and she just realized that she had the plastic bag with her still so she was freaking out. She ran in circle from the kitchen to the living room, she managed to unplug what was behind the television. She went to the basement and hubby had to follow her to grab the plastic bag from her, while both of us were laughing out loud. But for her, she was so mad that she was hiding under the boxes and hubby had to find her. She was growling and hissing but yet we were still laughing till OJ went down to the basement and started attacking her. But not literally. They were just growling and hissing and we had to separate them. Hubby and I had to hold each cat to avoid the fighting again. It lasted for 2 hours I guess. Daphne was feeling better but OJ still not. At this moment, we had to lock him in the computer room because he is still mad. We don't know what's going on with him. Hubby had to much for him so he's locked up in the room the entire night. We give him food, water and litter box for his own. Hopefully he'll be better tomorrow or else he'll be in the room still. Feels like the first day we just had Daphne in our apartment and OJ was so mad.

Free Taco @ Work

When i arrived at work, my co-worker told me we had taco in the break room. I asked her why. It's because we had 30 days accident free at work. That is good. Free lunch for us. Our store has been doing good since last year. It is the newest store in Omaha and so far, we are #2 and it is not bad at all for just a 3 year old store. It is the cleanest store and the employees are friendly.
We have been getting our bonus every quarter. Plus, we have free food every time we get our bonus. It really helps a lot.
Back to the taco, it was really good. We had ice cream cup too for our dessert. We were having a feast. yummy.

Got My Passport Back

After 3 weeks of renewing my passport in Chicago, I had it in the mail yesterday. But since we weren't home, they just left a note that I had to pick up in the post office today. I had to left early before going to work to stop by in the post office. I was curious what was inside my mail but hubby said it should had been my passport. He was right, it is passport. I am so happy because it means I can go home to attend my brother's wedding. I called my brother and told him about it and he said we will meet soon. wink.

I can't wait and I can't wait for their comment about the said recipe. I like the recipe because it sounds delicious. Spent time alone

Instead of having my Monday off, I switched on Friday. I attended the mass for the Filipino-American that is held every first Friday of the month. At the same time, I had to ask favor for the Filipino priest that needed for the baptism of my friend's daughter.
Before going to the church, I've been wanting to go to the mall by myself. I just wanted to spend time alone. I spent 4 hours in the mall, bought a lot of clothes. It was a bargain for most part and I was so happy. I went to the bank to deposit some money and straight to wal-mart to buy the stuff that my aunt told me for her box. Then I went home and took a nap before hubby arrived from work.
Spent some time with hubby before going to church. I made skillet lasagna for him. That's my new dish that I found out from the magazine that so easy to make. I've been searching for a recipe that is easy to cook lately since I don't have much time to spend in the kitchen.
Feel so good to hear the mass again. We had a potluck dinner after. It's a tradition for the organization. We had fun.
It was a good day for me. I had fun just being alone and be able to do what I've been planning lately.

People at Work

Lately, I don't like the people around at work. So much drama going on. I guess you can find them anywhere you are. It's getting old if it happens everyday though. For some reasons, I am trying to be fair with everybody but sometimes, you just have to express your own thoughts and hoping that person realize what she's been doing. I just can't help not to be mean sometimes.
Another thing is, I wanted to move to other area. I am getting sick of my job and I can't stand my supervisor sometimes. I have nothing against with her but some things on her that makes me irritated sometimes. She is nice but if you're doing something that she doesn't like it, seems like the world has ended. She just has to learn that we have life outside work. Feels like I am being choked with her sometimes.
But oh well, that's life sometimes.
I have been wanting to update my blog lately but I am too tired when I get home from work. Even during my days off, I couldn't make it.

Cheese French

My in-laws visited us today. It's been awhile since we haven't seen each other. It's over a month i think. We were just busy and both me and hubby got sick. I am so glad to see them this morning and we had a good conversation.
Me and hubby went out to eat after they left. I was craving for cheese french and fries so we went to Don and Millie's. It was good. We went to TJ Max after we ate. Hubby dropped me in the store first and he went to the store that he likes. He went to find me after in the store. I found a good pair of shoes for him and a tank top for me for a reasonable prices. I tried not to spend much lately since i am trying to save a little for our upcoming trips.
We went home and took a nap. It was nice to relax in our day off. I'll be calling my mom soon and I suppose I'll be ironing our clothes after. I need to do the laundry too. It's been 2 weeks or more that I haven't do the laundry. I feel so lazy to do that kind of stuff. hehehe

Caught in the Act

Work is slow today. We had good coverage in apparel too. It was an easy night for all of us. We were done early and we stayed in the fitting room and we had a talked about getting drank. We were just having so much fun that i couldn't help not to laugh out so hard. Well, it's my trademark at work too. They know it's me if they could hear me laughing from their respective areas.
Our Co-Manager said from the radio telling the fitting room person that sounded like we were done and having so much fun since he could hear my laughing from electronics department...hahaha...it's kinda far from the fitting room so it was hilarious when he said it. My face was turning red at the same time was laughing. uh oh, somebody's in trouble. lol. but nah, he was teasing me and was even laughing while talking in the radio. I am happy every time i make people laugh. I don't like drama's in life anyways.
Also, another thing that had happened at work earlier was i had a customer asking for something. I showed him the direction but he asked me if i could walked with him and told him sure i could. He told me he would go to the store often since i am working there and told him that would be a good idea so that we could have some sales. lol...He asked me where am i came from and told him I came from the Philippines. He has a friend from Cavite and the conversation was ended since he found the stuff that he was looking. He then told me to tell my husband that he is a lucky guy to have me as his wife. hehehe. I am so touched and proud.
I had to do some grocery shopping for my recipe that I'll be making tomorrow. That will be our lunch.

Less Time

I have been so busy since the month of July started. So many things to do but less time to do everything. I realize that I only like to travel but not every month. I wanted to relax more and travel less...I mean, I am not complaining to be able to go somewhere else but it's too much for me if you have to go somewhere every month. If the plan will push through, we might gonna go to South Dakota end of next month. I am hoping it will move though. I might going to the PI on October too...sigh... The fact that it's so expensive to travel don't excite me. I always think how much money are we going to spend. Especially lately that the economy isn't good, not advisable to travel. We will not going anywhere next year since we already have a plan of something else. I hope we will make it next year though. I won't prevail yet but it's gonna be for our future.

Lazy Sunday

I fell so lazy today. We woke up early and had breakfast at Taco Bueno. It was okay. We went to wal-mart to do grocery shopping. After that, we just stayed in the house the entire day. I even called my friend and my aunt that I won't be going to their places because I feel so lazy to go out. I have to work tomorrow though. I offered to work on my day off since 2 more days, we will be having our inventory. I can't wait to have Wednesday off because I will be going out with my aunt.

Bored

I am bored. I can't wait for our short trip. It's been awhile we haven't gone anywhere since we are always working. It's time for us to have some fun.
I didn't have fun last 4th of July. I was working. I was sad I couldn't join the family. I was sad the day before the holiday. Probably I was stressing myself too much. I can't help it but I need to control it as much as possible.
I wish we can go now to unwind ourselves but I have to wait. Patient is a virtue as what the saying goes.

Storm

We had a bad storm that hit our place last Friday. I checked the weather that morning and I found out we were having a thunderstorm in the afternoon. I still managed to go out and went shopping in Marshall's, Famous Footwear and Target. I even bought more food that we had to bring to the concert. But when hubby came home, He said we wouldn't go since it was nasty outside. I tried calling Evelyn to tell her that we weren't going but I couldn't have the chance to talk to her since they were trying to close the Garden Center quick. I tried to call her few times till me and hubby decided to go out and get Kentucky Fried Chicken. We tried to beat the storm but we failed. After 2 minutes since we left the house, the storm hit on us. We decided to go back. It was scary since we couldn't see anything and the tornado siren was on. We didn't have a tornado but the siren was on because of the wind. It was 90mph. Imagine that. There were hails too that was about the size of the marble. We ran from the garage to our house, it just took us 30 seconds but we were soaked when we got inside the house. It was really bad. Dad called us and he said they didn't have a power and we might gonna have them on that night. We were watching the news and the concert was canceled. The storm just ended up for only 10 minutes and it caused a big damaged in Omaha. Especially on my aunt's area, they didn't have a power for 2 days.
whew, I'm glad the storm was over. It was still unbelievable. Felt like we were just dreaming but we are just glad nobody got hurt.

Two Occasions In A Day

There were two occasions had happened yesterday. The first one was sad. We had to attend Uncle Ned's burial. He was a friend here in Omaha. He was so nice to everybody. In every event before, He was always there. He was one of the officers in the Filipino-American Organization. We found out that He had a lung cancer when we had our first Friday of the month mass. He was telling us how he'd been through from being admitted to the hospital and how he had his radiation went. We could hear how bad his cough was & saw his skin being affected on his illness. Couple weeks after, my aunt left a voice message on my phone saying the Uncle Ned passed away. It was really sad. But the good thing is, He wouldn't suffer anymore & God took away his pain shorter. The gospel of the mass yesterday was so nice. It was about him how He served God all his life. He even had the chance to have the blessing for the sickly people. For me, He is such a lucky guy that He had been prepared on his death. He knew that his death would come soon & he had been preparing himself. I know that He is in heaven and been watching His loved ones on earth. May You rest in peace Uncle Ned.
The second occasion that I had was our 4th year wedding anniversary. Nothing fancy happened. We just went out to watch a movie & dined out after. We made a plan that we wouldn't give any present for each other since we had it in advance and we have to save for our coming trip. Hubby had to work since his co-worker still on vacation. Before hubby went home, I took my friend to our house to get those old clothes from me instead of giving it away to Goodwill. After awhile, I took her to the mall and bought her some stuff. She was having a good time and we're hoping to do it again next time.

Shopping

I've been shopping since yesterday. I went out with Evelyn & Auntie Marisa. We had fun. I found some things that I bought. But mostly it wasn't for me. I only bought 1 item for me. The rest is for hubby and for my mom. I was tired when i got home. Since hubby had to help his brother moving out, I just cooked steamed rice & had kare-kare for dinner. He had Taco John for his dinner. I just woke up when he got home after helping his brother & wished I didn't take a nap because I had troubled to get some sleep later that night. I ended up sleeping for only 5 hours. whew.
I had to work this morning and will have Friday off. I switched my day off this week. I left early since we had to renew our lease in our townhomes. But instead of going to the office, hubby called the office first before going there since he remembered last year, they just had to send the paperwork and we can drop it in the office once we write our signature.
So, instead, we went to Famous Footwear to check out their shoes. I've been looking for a pair of shoes for our trip. duh. For so much shoes I have, I still can't find any of them that I could use it. hehehe. I was glad we went there, I found a pair of shoes that I could wear it for work. It's a bargain too. yay.
We went to Culver's for dinner. I wanted to eat burger so we went there. We stopped by in McDonald's after to buy vanilla cone. yum.

Burger

I came home and saw hubby grilling in the patio. Smell so good. I got in inside the house & the table was ready. It is so nice to be home. All I had to do was change my clothes & was ready to eat. Burger & fries was our dinner. He had German chocolate cake while I was having the fruit salad dessert. It was such a good night & I had to prepare our clothes for tomorrow. Such an ordinary day yet so nice.

Busy Bee

I have been busy. Saturday, I had to work nights since there wasn't enough coverage. I didn't mind since I'm off the day after. We weren't that busy though which is good. I had to stop by at my aunt's house after i got off from work to drop the ingredients for the dessert that she had to make for the supposed to be picnic. She was making "binangkal" & German chocolate cake.
Sunday, we didn't go since the weather was crappy in the morning & it was held in Iowa. As we all know, tornado hit on their area & had some damages. We were kinda scared and at the same time, we were thinking about the gas price. We went shopping instead. We spent 3 hours shopping & we wished we just went to the picnic to save money. lol. but we had fun, that's the good thing.
Hubby picked me up at my aunt's house @ 4 and we headed to the theater. We watched Kung Fu Panda. It was great. We went to Applebee's Restaurant after. Went back to my aunt's house again to pick up my stuff and some food. We went home after.
Today, we went to Red Zone Barbeque Restaurant for lunch. We stopped by at Target after and had some shopping. We went home after & stayed for the rest of the night. I did some cleaning and felt so great after. Did some laundry too.
I am relaxing right now & going to bed soon. I have to work early tomorrow. sigh

Busy Bee

I have been busy. Saturday, I had to work nights since there wasn't enough coverage. I didn't mind since I'm off the day after. We weren't that busy though which is good. I had to stop by at my aunt's house after i got off from work to drop the ingredients for the dessert that she had to make for the supposed to be picnic. She was making "binangkal" & German chocolate cake.
Sunday, we didn't go since the weather was crappy in the morning & it was held in Iowa. As we all know, tornado hit on their area & had some damages. We were kinda scared and at the same time, we were thinking about the gas price. We went shopping instead. We spent 3 hours shopping & we wished we just went to the picnic to save money. lol. but we had fun, that's the good thing.
Hubby picked me up at my aunt's house @ 4 and we headed to the theater. We watched Kung Fu Panda. It was great. We went to Applebee's Restaurant after. Went back to my aunt's house again to pick up my stuff and some food. We went home after.
Today, we went to Red Zone Barbeque Restaurant for lunch. We stopped by at Target after and had some shopping. We went home after & stayed for the rest of the night. I did some cleaning and felt so great after. Did some laundry too.
I am relaxing right now & going to bed soon. I have to work early tomorrow. sigh.

Just came from the basement

At work this morning, they said we were having a tornado warning later that night. Work was ok. I had some grocery shopping during my 1 hour lunch so that by the time i got at at 5, i was just gonna go home straight. It is convenient for me to do it since I can put my stuff in the refrigerator that has needed to.
Hubby was preparing dinner when i got home. I was cleaning after & while watching the news, we heard the siren somewhere in the west. Hubby took the extra tv in the basement & cleaned up the litter box. We took the cats in the basement & took the things that were necessary. We were laying down in the couch the whole time. We couldn't count how many time the sirens was on. It was kinda scary & I was praying the whole time for our safety. It took almost 2 hours that we stayed in the basement.
We just came from the basement. Thank God...but sad to say,Little Sioux, Iowa, there were 30-40 injuries that was from Boy Scout Camp.
I called my mom & a minute after we talked, she said, the balikbayan box just arrived. yahoo...it took 2 months before they got it. I'll be sending them again on Christmas. As much as possible, i wanted to send them balikbayan box twice a year, excluding the money every month. I am just thankful my husband is okay & he is supportive. I have to call her again by tomorrow.

After Work

After work yesterday, I went home right away. Hubby was home already & we were both hungry. I just changed my clothes & waited for 30 minutes & went out to eat. We went to Taco Bueno. After eating, we went home quick because hubby forgot something. Then we went to the theater and met our dad & brother. We watched Indiana Jones. It was ok.
When we got home, I started cooking right away. I cooked pancit canton, humba & cooked afritada & gizzards this morning. I made 4 layered dessert, buko salad and mango supreme for dessert. We had a lunch date wit the Watson's and had to be there @ 3 in the afternoon in their place earlier.
They grilled ribs, chicken & brats. We were having a feast for 4 people...LOL...it was too much. It was a relaxing day for all of us...Next time, it will be in my place. I'm thinking we'll gonna grill & go swimming. Hopefully not a lot of people in the pool at the time.

Tornado Siren

I was ready to go to bed this morning when I've heard the tornado siren. I thought at first it was just heard something noise outside but after a minute, it was the siren for real. I looked at my cat and she looked scared. I hurriedly ran upstairs since hubby went to bed ahead of me because I was still busy in the kitchen for the cook out later. He was in the deep sleep still. I woke him up & told him we should go to the basement. He got up right away & I was following him while I was holding my cat. I told him to find his cat and we would gonna head to the basement but he couldn't find him so we just went without him. We were having a thunderstorm & his cat always hide every time we have a storm. It's because he had a trauma before when he fell from the window & was outside for 3 days. My hubby almost gave up to look for him but to his surprise, he saw him by the window. I feel sad just imagining what his cat had experienced. But aside from that, he is fine.
Anyways, while we were in the basement & I was laying in the couch, I could hear a meow under the pillow. I was surprised. I was worrying about him & I was glad he made a noise. It was because I was crushing him...lol...poor guy...I was so glad to see him & I was relaxed after. We stayed in the basement for 1 hour since the siren was on & off...We watched the news after and it was confirmed that there was 1 tornado hit in Omaha. There was no major injuries but damaged houses and businesses. It was scary since it was a little warning and people were asleep when it happened. I am so glad and thank God that we are all safe.
We finally went to bed at 4 in the morning & woke up at around 10 in the morning.

Overslept

We have a tornado watch again. We've had it yesterday too. But thank God, we are still safe. It went to other directions.
I overslept today. I needed it though. I am still tired when I woke up. hehehe. Probably too much sleep. Before going to work, I did household chores. I cooked, clean the litter box and a little bit cleaning in the basement, vacuum downstairs & upstairs. whew. I just couldn't help just to sit in the house & it's cluttered. As much as possible, I wanted to be clean all the time. That's why my husband said I am an Obsessive Compulsive type of person. I can't relax. Everything has to be an order. Maybe I get this attitude from my mom. She is worse than me though. hehehe.
Work is good. We had fun. Our manager closed with us & he is freaking funny. I had to leave early before my scheduled time since I am over. We are trying to avoid overtime since we wanted to have a bonus quarterly. So far so good.
I did some grocery shopping after work. Me & Vangie are both off tomorrow and before hitting the store, we're gonna have lunch at my place. We rarely go together shopping since our time wouldn't meet. I am excited for tomorrow.

Not Much

What's up guys? Not much in here. Supposed to be my off yesterday but I had to work because I wanted Friday off. I have to go to church with my aunt since it's first Friday of the month & it's a tradition in Omaha for the Filipino-American organization to have a mass & it's officiated with a Filipino priest.It was cool though that I had to work with Vangie last night since our scheduled wouldn't meet lately. sigh. Work is more fun with we work together.
I had to be back at 8 in the morning this morning to work on my normal shift. I only had 5 hours of sleep but I used to it. Marisa showed up at work & I was happy to see her. We had lunch together in Subway.
Got home & saw that hubby just came in the house with the plate on his hand. He made dinner again. Two days in a row now. Yeah, He cook if I have to work 8-5 because He knows I am so lazy when i get home. But on Thursday & Friday, I cook for our lunch too since I work 1-10. But lately, He cooks more than I do. If not, we normally go out and get something to eat.
I was hoping to get some sleep tonight but I couldn't. Don't know why. I am sure I will be sleepy at work again tomorrow but I can manage.

It Made My Day

I thought this blog was deleted. I check it tonight and I am glad it is being saved. whew. So here it goes...
How's your Sunday? Mine is good. We went to Walmart to buy the Norton virus since we lost our old one's code. grrrr...such a waste. We bought a new phone also since our old one got wet when we had a thunderstorm Friday morning. One of our windows upstairs were leaking and the water went in & wet the carpet & our phone. Since that day, we're using our phone from our bedroom but there's no caller ID. We finally bought a new one earlier.
We went to Old Country Buffet for breakfast. We like their breakfast than lunch. It's cheaper and better food. We decided just to go home after since we spent a lot already. It was fine with me so that we can do housework. We took a nap too. So relaxing.
I've got a call from my cellphone from my boss but wasn't able to talk to her since i was napping. She left a voice message so i called her back when i woke up. She then told me she talked to our manager since he messed up my schedule. I supposed to close 1-10 on Saturday just once a month but he scheduled me for 3 Saturday's now. She talked to him and told him he needed to fix it since me and the Co-Manager made an agreement when I was about to quit on my schedules. hehehe. It got fix now. yahoo. She is such a good supervisor. She would defend you if you're under on her team. The fact that she works there for 17 years already is a plus too. But she doesn't want to be a manager. She's happy where she at right now just like me. I am enjoying my job really. Don't pay that good but the benefits are awesome plus the people are great. Right now, I am not planning to find a new job. We'll see in the future.

Tornado Warning

If it's spring time, it's expected to have a tornado in our state. Our weather is weird. But living for 4 years already, I am used to it. In fact, I like being cold. I like the feeling of cuddling & baking cookies for the two of us. Summertime is just too hot here. So humid.
We've had 2 tornado's warning lately. Good thing, it didn't hit us bad. The first one even switched direction. The second one which was last Thursday, it hit somewhere part in Omaha but not bad. It just hit Wal-Mart truck but not from our store.
We even ended up going home an hour early from work since we were so slow. I was in a hurry to go home. I made it safe. whew.

Out From Danger

We are so thankful that my brother in law is out of danger. He was in the hospital for a week. It all started he was having chest pain. He tried to ignore it and yet managed to go to work rather going to the clinic. He got at work and felt like he was out of breath after walking the stairs. It was good that He still could drive himself to the clinic and after checking his blood pressure, they immediately brought him to the emergency. When he got there, he passed out three time and they had to do CPR for him since they were losing him. How scary. He didn't even know where he was at.
My father in law called me while I was work when they got to the hospital to visit him. I couldn't able to answer him since I was working at that time. I checked it after I got off from work and got a voice message from him. After I found out what happened, I was driving fast to get home to tell my husband about his younger brother since we couldn't reached him in our landline #. I forgot to turn on the ringer again...oopppsss...my fault there.
He then called his dad right away & they were talking for awhile. After that, we got a phone call from my bro in law's fiance. Then, my husband finally talking to his brother. It was emotional.
We spent our Memorial Day in the hospital. It was the day he was scheduled for a surgery. They had to take some fluid out somewhere from his heart. It basically was a heart surgery i guess. The surgery took an hour & when we went back to his room, he couldn't move himself and he was so much in pain. We were sorrounded him & just felt to helpless instead in our own little way, prayed for his recovery.
He is out from danger today & he's out from the hospital too. For the meantime, he has to stay with mom and dad since his fiance has to work 12 hours a day to cover up the hours that she missed.
We are just so glad that he feels better. I am hoping for his fast recovery. Thank God.

Saba Oi Bruha

I've known this lady at work for awhile. She's African. We clicked really good. We go to breaks and lunches together. Till I've met this Filipina & helped her to get a job where i work. If I work daytime, we go together, have some chitchat & giggles a lot. The three of us sits together during break time. I thought everything was okay till yesterday afternoon. She told us in front of everybody in the break room she didn't wanna sit with us since all we do is yacking in cebuano. But to my surprise, she still sat with us. We just didn't mind her and we still kept talking in our dialect. I could sense she was really irritated. Our time was up and we left her alone in the table.
Our last break came & the Filipina was off from work. I sat by myself on the table till the african lady arrived. She told me right away that I would talk to her already since my buddy wasn't there anymore. She kept blabbing till i asked her if it bothered her? She said "No" but...hmm, if it won't bother her, why did she say a lot of things about it. I don't believe her. I just keep myself calm & told her next time she's around, we will speak english. GGrrrrrrrrr...Told my husband when i got home about what she said. He just shaking his head. He told me that I should have told her "Saba oi, bruha"....he knows how to say that in cebuano. LOL...

Relaxing Weekend

We spent our weekend with the inlaws. We picked them up at their house & went to Red Lobster's Restaurant. It was a plan since last week since they didn't want to go out because it was Mother's Day. They don't like being in a crowded place. Also, it was a treat for my dad in law for his late birthday present. The food was great. We spent our time with them for mostly 3 hours.
After eating, hubby wanted to go grocery shopping. We supposed to go to Best Buy but after looking at their sunday paper, hubby couldn't find the graphics card that he wanted to buy that was on sale. We just went home straight after Wal-Mart.
We took a nap & I started cleaning when I woke up. I was gonna do the laundry also but I felt lazy already especially I sat down after I took my shower & started chatting with lea. hehehe.

Surprised

For the past few nights, I've been waking up due to my feet allergy. I woke up that i was scratching my feet and the itch won't stop till i put my feet in the tub with warm water. It's been a pain for me since I needed some sleep because I have to work.
Two days ago, since I couldn't sleep till 5 in the morning, I decided to thaw the fish & was gonna cook it when i woke up. But to my surprise, when I went to the kitchen, I saw the fish was on the floor and the bag was tore up already. I couldn't tell who did it. If it's either my cat or my hubby's cat. I told hubby when he got home for lunch and he was laughing. It was funny though. It was the first time that they dared to get something from the kitchen. They're not like that. Oh well, I should have known, cats likes fish...

New Look

I finally chopped my hair last Monday. I've been wanting to go to salon but i just couldn't decide what would be the style. I even bought a hairstyle magazine for choices. Good thing hubby won't care whatever hairstyle I picked.
Me & Evelyn went to the mall since we both had the same day off. We went to the salon and asked if walked-in was okay. Good thing it was.
I talked to the lady and asked her suggestion about what would look good on me. She convinced me to have a short hair since I wanted a new look. When she just started to cut my hair, I could hear my heart beat so fast. I was so nervous but she kept telling me it should be fine. I would look good.
I liked the result. When i got home, hubby looked so happy & he loved my new hair. It made me happy.
All the people at work noticed my new hair and they liked it too. I am so glad to hear about it. I am enjoying my new hair now & so easy to care. Thanks to Regis salon. hehehe.

I am back

I am back. Hopefully at this time, I won't be lazy to update my blog. It's just i am too busy in everything. I can't focus on just one thing & if i am, i am getting restless. Probably my time management is poor and i have to improve it. There's been a lot of things happening in my day to day life. For some reasons, i just don't want to post it. I don't know, maybe i wanted a little privacy or something but right now, I am trying to be more open. I am just hoping.

Health issue

I've been away to write my blog due to health reason. I thought i was free from the flu but it came back the night that we had a party for my grandma. Probably i was stressing out myself too much. I was sick for 3 days as I've mentioned from my previous blog & i guess i was forcing myself to get better & came back to work right away & at the time time, preparing for the upcoming party.
I was still managing to go to the store right after the party to have grocery shopping with my hubby. But right then & there when i got home, i went to bed right away, i felt so cold & had to ask my hubby to bring the medicine for me. I was such in pain.
It took me 2 days to finally get up in bed but i still felt crappy. I was calling in sick at work. I decided to go to the doctor since my symptoms was getting worse. The doctor gave me medications for the flu & for the cough. I had to keep going back 3 times in a month for a check-up till the doctor told me i had to have an x-ray since he had a feeling i had pneumonia. He was right. I had pneumonia in my left chest. I had to take another medication again. All in all, from march 19 to April 11, I was on medical leave at work. I've got mixed emotions at that time. I am so thankful hubby is very caring. I felt so bad because we couldn't go out anywhere during his time off but he understood.
When i came back to work, everybody was so happy to see me. They are so glad that i am feeling better. The best thing is, management cares a lot. I am so touched.

60 Days Accident Free

We have free food at work. We had hamburger, sausage, chips & pop. We're 60 days accident free. It's nice to have free food sometimes at work. hehehe. The management were the one who cooked the food. Next week, we'll be having another free food. It's about our My Share Plus Bonus.

Getting Better

I was sick for 3 days. I was in bed the entire time. My husband took care of me. I am so blessed. I couldn't ask for more.
Today, I am getting better. Talked to my supervisor before going to work. She was just concern about my health. It was so nice to hear from her. I tried to go to work since I felt better & I am bored at home too. I needed some fresh air & since it's been nice out, I wanted to enjoy the weather. Suppose to snow tomorrow...welcome to Nebraska. hehehe.
I found out it was just me & Vangie for the coverage. Even if I wanted to go home I just couldn't. I didn't want her to be my herself for the whole department. I survived.

Aegan's Christening

After work, we attended Baby Aegan's Christening Party. There were a lot of people when we got there but there were still a lot of food. The food was delicious. They had roast pig too. Yum. We stayed for 2 hours. We just went home straight since me & hubby were working earlier.

My Share

We got our my share bonus today. It helps a lot. Aside from the bonus, we had free pizza, chips & pop. I had a slice of pizza every time I went to break. All in all, I had 3 slices of pizza today...There goes my diet...hehehe...The reason why we had free food today because we had 60 days accident free. In every 30 days for accident free, we can get free food. The most interesting part is, if we're 190 days of accident free, we have to shave our Store Manager's head. hehehe...Sounds interesting.

Online Class

I finally had the guts to enroll even just 1 subject for now. I've been planning about going back to school since I got here in the US but I just couldn't decide what will I take up. I was indecisive. I wanted to make sure that I wouldn't waste my time nor my money once I started doing it. After more than 3 years, I finally enrolled Biology class. Why biology? I wanted to pursue in a medical field later on. I am hoping I could make it. I am not in a hurry though. I am doing it one step at a time.
I had my online orientation this morning. I was coming in late for work. I have to buy my textbook soon.
Right now, I am excited for my class.

Kare Kare

Cooking Instruction:

1. Cut oxtail into serving pieces. Boil in 8 cups of water until meat is very tender, leaving about 1 1/2 cups broth. Set aside.

2. Dissolve 1 pouch Mama Sita Sauce (Kare Kare) mix in 1 cup broth. Stir until smooth and free from lumps.

3. In a heavy saucepan, over medium heat, saute minced garlic and sliced onion in cooking oil. Add the oxtail, stir fry and pour the dissolve Mama Sita's Peanut Sauce thickens.

4. Add 1 piece sliced eggplant and sitaw (long green beans) cut into lengths. Simmer for 3 minutes or until half-cooked, stirring occasionally to prevent the sauce from sticking to the pan.

5. Add pechay (bok choy) and simmer for 2 minutes or until vegetables are done. Serve with bago-ong (sauteed shrimp paste) and rice.

GNUSE & GREEN LAW OFFICES

I went to the Mall before going to Vangie's place. I went to Von Maur to clarify something. I spent an hour there.
Me & Vangie had an appointment earlier with the attorney. The company's name called GNUSE & GREEN Law Offices. Sounds so serious huh? hehehe..l. We were supposed to meet him to change the legality of some papers where she used to have a different business partner. But, it came out that we have to make another LC just to be safe & for legal purposes. .It must be under on her name & my name. We're on the process on making a website that we can sell some product & hopefully it will work out good. We really don't know what will be the outcome but we're not in the hurry to push it through right away...Everything has to be in order. We need to sell some items that we have right now to pay for the legal processing. We're so close that we can have the money. If not, we have to pay the rest of the cost out from our pocket.
I had to stop by at Target before going home. I supposed to meet Marisa but we had a miscommunication. hahaha...oh well, i ended up buying something.

Jumbo Mongolian Buffet

Me & my hubby loves to dine out. Sometimes, we run out of idea where to go. Today, hubby wanted me to get ready after the folks came to visit us. I asked him where we going & he told me somewhere where we haven't try yet. I was curios & sounded interesting. I was surprised when I saw we were heading to a Mongolian Restaurant. I couldn't believed he wanted to go there. He is picky yet I know he wanted to try something new every once in awhile. In my thoughts, I was asking what the restaurant offered. If we were going to pick what kind of food we want & if they had to cook it for us?
I kinda didn't like the smell of the restaurant but hubby said it smells like the chinese restaurant that we like. I wasn't expecting it was a buffet but I was glad. They have all kinds of food. My favorite is the seafood. I didn't even have the room for the dessert. I was so happy that hubby brought me there. He was glad I liked it too. We definitely are going back there.
