Just came from the basement

At work this morning, they said we were having a tornado warning later that night. Work was ok. I had some grocery shopping during my 1 hour lunch so that by the time i got at at 5, i was just gonna go home straight. It is convenient for me to do it since I can put my stuff in the refrigerator that has needed to.
Hubby was preparing dinner when i got home. I was cleaning after & while watching the news, we heard the siren somewhere in the west. Hubby took the extra tv in the basement & cleaned up the litter box. We took the cats in the basement & took the things that were necessary. We were laying down in the couch the whole time. We couldn't count how many time the sirens was on. It was kinda scary & I was praying the whole time for our safety. It took almost 2 hours that we stayed in the basement.
We just came from the basement. Thank God...but sad to say,Little Sioux, Iowa, there were 30-40 injuries that was from Boy Scout Camp.
I called my mom & a minute after we talked, she said, the balikbayan box just arrived. yahoo...it took 2 months before they got it. I'll be sending them again on Christmas. As much as possible, i wanted to send them balikbayan box twice a year, excluding the money every month. I am just thankful my husband is okay & he is supportive. I have to call her again by tomorrow.

After Work

After work yesterday, I went home right away. Hubby was home already & we were both hungry. I just changed my clothes & waited for 30 minutes & went out to eat. We went to Taco Bueno. After eating, we went home quick because hubby forgot something. Then we went to the theater and met our dad & brother. We watched Indiana Jones. It was ok.
When we got home, I started cooking right away. I cooked pancit canton, humba & cooked afritada & gizzards this morning. I made 4 layered dessert, buko salad and mango supreme for dessert. We had a lunch date wit the Watson's and had to be there @ 3 in the afternoon in their place earlier.
They grilled ribs, chicken & brats. We were having a feast for 4 people...LOL...it was too much. It was a relaxing day for all of us...Next time, it will be in my place. I'm thinking we'll gonna grill & go swimming. Hopefully not a lot of people in the pool at the time.

Tornado Siren

I was ready to go to bed this morning when I've heard the tornado siren. I thought at first it was just heard something noise outside but after a minute, it was the siren for real. I looked at my cat and she looked scared. I hurriedly ran upstairs since hubby went to bed ahead of me because I was still busy in the kitchen for the cook out later. He was in the deep sleep still. I woke him up & told him we should go to the basement. He got up right away & I was following him while I was holding my cat. I told him to find his cat and we would gonna head to the basement but he couldn't find him so we just went without him. We were having a thunderstorm & his cat always hide every time we have a storm. It's because he had a trauma before when he fell from the window & was outside for 3 days. My hubby almost gave up to look for him but to his surprise, he saw him by the window. I feel sad just imagining what his cat had experienced. But aside from that, he is fine.
Anyways, while we were in the basement & I was laying in the couch, I could hear a meow under the pillow. I was surprised. I was worrying about him & I was glad he made a noise. It was because I was crushing him...lol...poor guy...I was so glad to see him & I was relaxed after. We stayed in the basement for 1 hour since the siren was on & off...We watched the news after and it was confirmed that there was 1 tornado hit in Omaha. There was no major injuries but damaged houses and businesses. It was scary since it was a little warning and people were asleep when it happened. I am so glad and thank God that we are all safe.
We finally went to bed at 4 in the morning & woke up at around 10 in the morning.

Overslept

We have a tornado watch again. We've had it yesterday too. But thank God, we are still safe. It went to other directions.
I overslept today. I needed it though. I am still tired when I woke up. hehehe. Probably too much sleep. Before going to work, I did household chores. I cooked, clean the litter box and a little bit cleaning in the basement, vacuum downstairs & upstairs. whew. I just couldn't help just to sit in the house & it's cluttered. As much as possible, I wanted to be clean all the time. That's why my husband said I am an Obsessive Compulsive type of person. I can't relax. Everything has to be an order. Maybe I get this attitude from my mom. She is worse than me though. hehehe.
Work is good. We had fun. Our manager closed with us & he is freaking funny. I had to leave early before my scheduled time since I am over. We are trying to avoid overtime since we wanted to have a bonus quarterly. So far so good.
I did some grocery shopping after work. Me & Vangie are both off tomorrow and before hitting the store, we're gonna have lunch at my place. We rarely go together shopping since our time wouldn't meet. I am excited for tomorrow.

Not Much

What's up guys? Not much in here. Supposed to be my off yesterday but I had to work because I wanted Friday off. I have to go to church with my aunt since it's first Friday of the month & it's a tradition in Omaha for the Filipino-American organization to have a mass & it's officiated with a Filipino priest.It was cool though that I had to work with Vangie last night since our scheduled wouldn't meet lately. sigh. Work is more fun with we work together.
I had to be back at 8 in the morning this morning to work on my normal shift. I only had 5 hours of sleep but I used to it. Marisa showed up at work & I was happy to see her. We had lunch together in Subway.
Got home & saw that hubby just came in the house with the plate on his hand. He made dinner again. Two days in a row now. Yeah, He cook if I have to work 8-5 because He knows I am so lazy when i get home. But on Thursday & Friday, I cook for our lunch too since I work 1-10. But lately, He cooks more than I do. If not, we normally go out and get something to eat.
I was hoping to get some sleep tonight but I couldn't. Don't know why. I am sure I will be sleepy at work again tomorrow but I can manage.

It Made My Day

I thought this blog was deleted. I check it tonight and I am glad it is being saved. whew. So here it goes...
How's your Sunday? Mine is good. We went to Walmart to buy the Norton virus since we lost our old one's code. grrrr...such a waste. We bought a new phone also since our old one got wet when we had a thunderstorm Friday morning. One of our windows upstairs were leaking and the water went in & wet the carpet & our phone. Since that day, we're using our phone from our bedroom but there's no caller ID. We finally bought a new one earlier.
We went to Old Country Buffet for breakfast. We like their breakfast than lunch. It's cheaper and better food. We decided just to go home after since we spent a lot already. It was fine with me so that we can do housework. We took a nap too. So relaxing.
I've got a call from my cellphone from my boss but wasn't able to talk to her since i was napping. She left a voice message so i called her back when i woke up. She then told me she talked to our manager since he messed up my schedule. I supposed to close 1-10 on Saturday just once a month but he scheduled me for 3 Saturday's now. She talked to him and told him he needed to fix it since me and the Co-Manager made an agreement when I was about to quit on my schedules. hehehe. It got fix now. yahoo. She is such a good supervisor. She would defend you if you're under on her team. The fact that she works there for 17 years already is a plus too. But she doesn't want to be a manager. She's happy where she at right now just like me. I am enjoying my job really. Don't pay that good but the benefits are awesome plus the people are great. Right now, I am not planning to find a new job. We'll see in the future.

Tornado Warning

If it's spring time, it's expected to have a tornado in our state. Our weather is weird. But living for 4 years already, I am used to it. In fact, I like being cold. I like the feeling of cuddling & baking cookies for the two of us. Summertime is just too hot here. So humid.
We've had 2 tornado's warning lately. Good thing, it didn't hit us bad. The first one even switched direction. The second one which was last Thursday, it hit somewhere part in Omaha but not bad. It just hit Wal-Mart truck but not from our store.
We even ended up going home an hour early from work since we were so slow. I was in a hurry to go home. I made it safe. whew.
